Physiotherapy Iburg has stood for quality since 1993. Quality in treatment, professionalism and communication. This is how we help our clients to quickly and effectively relieve their complaints.
Ankle complaints can have various causes, ranging from a traumatic moment (for example a sprain or sports-related injury) to long-term pain complaints due to osteoarthritis (wear and tear). A condition that occurs frequently is 'strain of the ankle ligaments'.
The ankle joint ensures flexibility, stability and movements of the foot. This makes it an important link in the chain of the entire leg. If the ankle is (unconsciously) put less strain on the ankle due to pain, a change in gait pattern may occur, causing other parts to be strained more.
Initially, the physiotherapist examines the nature and severity of your ankle complaint and indicates what the expected recovery looks like. The physiotherapist also provides information, advice and exercises. He guides the recovery process and, if necessary, teaches you how to use a tape, bandage or brace. If you cannot put weight on the ankle as you would like, for example for your work or hobbies, the physiotherapist will draw up a treatment/training program that is tailored to your personal situation. The ultimate goal is for you to be able to do everything with your ankle that you could do before the injury, including sports. The moment when you return to work or can start exercising, whether or not at the old level, is usually determined in consultation with the physiotherapist or doctor.
