Low back pain is one of the most common complaints of the musculoskeletal system. The feeling of stiffness/stiffness or pain in the back, sometimes radiating towards the buttock region or leg, is not only very annoying but often also limits the performance of daily activities.
Low back pain can be classified in different ways. One of these is the division into specific low back pain and non-specific low back pain. In case of specific low back pain, there is a clear medical cause of the back complaints, such as a hernia or wear and tear. In non-specific low back pain (more than 85% of all back complaints) there is no medical abnormality and there is nothing wrong or broken in the structures in the back, but there is a problem with the functioning of the back. Non-specific back complaints can develop acutely ('it just happened') or gradually (based on degeneration or wear and tear). There is often overload, which causes an imbalance in the functioning of and between the structures in the back.
It is important to properly identify the nature of the back complaint, taking into account the position, posture and movement of the back and the entire body. The back forms the foundation for proper movement. This obviously applies not only to the lower back but also to the area around the middle and upper back. A targeted treatment plan is drawn up based on the cause of the back complaint.
Physiotherapy Iburg has various specializations that can be combined so that you receive the best treatment that suits your complaint. This is possible manual therapy can be used to remove any 'blockages' or to restore mobility and psychosomatic physiotherapy can be useful when there is a relationship with (psychological) factors such as stress or fear about movement. Dry needling can also have very positive effects on muscle and joint complaints in the back. Trigger points are then punctured using a special technique and thus quickly relaxed. Through core stability training can improve the function of the back, muscle strength and stability, which leads to positive results, especially in the long term. Through this targeted approach, advice and information, we are happy to help you recover and prevent your complaints.
