Physiotherapy Iburg has stood for quality since 1993. Quality in treatment, professionalism and communication. This is how we help our clients to quickly and effectively relieve their complaints.
A posterior cruciate ligament tear is a relatively common sports injury and is characterized by damage to the posterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint. A posterior cruciate ligament prevents overextension of the knee. When one of the ligaments on the inside of the knee is overstretched, injury to the posterior cruciate ligament can occur. At Physiotherapy Iburg you can expect the best rehabilitation of your posterior cruciate ligament.
The posterior cruciate ligament prevents the shin bone from moving too far back and under the thigh bone. In fact, any force that pushes the tibia backward and under the femur can lead to posterior cruciate ligament injury. The AKB can (partially) tear off or become strained. A torn posterior cruciate ligament can often be accompanied by injury to other ligaments, meniscus or cartilage.
Injury to the posterior cruciate ligament does not produce a “popping” sound or sensation. As a result, people are often unsure of the exact moment when the injury occurred. If you are injured you may experience the following complaints:
As soon as you experience problems with your posterior cruciate ligament, it is important to contact your physiotherapist as soon as possible. The specialist physiotherapist will carry out a thorough evaluation. In addition, your physiotherapist will also ask in detail about your injury. Special tests will then also be carried out to help determine the likelihood that you have a posterior cruciate ligament injury. For example, your physical therapist will gently press on the front of your knee to determine if the band feels loose. Additional testing is needed to determine whether other parts of your knee are also damaged.
The physiotherapists at Fysiotherapie Iburg will help to speed up your recovery through a tailor-made treatment program. We work with protocols, a number of measuring moments and evaluations take place so that the entire rehabilitation process is recorded. Thanks to professional treatment, you will soon be able to resume your daily life and activities. The recovery time from a complete posterior cruciate ligament rehabilitation varies depending on the severity of the injury and whether surgery is required. With our physiotherapy, progress is usually noticeable between 2-6 weeks.
