Physiotherapy Iburg has stood for quality since 1993. Quality in treatment, professionalism and communication. This is how we help our clients to quickly and effectively relieve their complaints.
Elbow complaints can arise in various ways. The (pain) complaints can be a result of (long-term) overload of the elbow/forearm muscles or arise as a result of trauma (for example a fall). Complaints to the elbow can be work or sports related, which may involve an acute or long-term overload moment.
The most common elbow complaint is... tennis elbow/golf elbow. With tennis elbow there is overload in the so-called 'wrist extensors': a painful attachment of one or more tendons at the outer top of the elbow. Sometimes the overload is on the inside/bottom of the elbow. In this case it is a golfer's elbow or golfer's arm. Other conditions may include bursitis, torn ligaments, arthritis or a fracture of the elbow. Bursitis causes stiffness and pain at the back of the elbow when stretching, bending and leaning. A torn ligament at the elbow can be caused by an acute incident or long-term strain. With rheumatoid arthritis you suffer from joint inflammation.
As soon as someone experiences pain in the elbow, they are often inclined to strain or move the elbow as little as possible. However, in a number of cases it may be recommended to make light movements or force light loads. This stimulates blood circulation and thus promotes recovery. To determine what the best treatment for elbow complaints is for you, the cause must first be known.
In order to make a diagnosis, Physiotherapy Iburg first conducts an extensive interview. The physiotherapist will discuss the complaints with you to determine the cause, duration and intensity. A physical examination will then take place, after which a personal treatment plan will be drawn up based on the information obtained from the interview and the examination.
