Physiotherapy Iburg has stood for quality since 1993. Quality in treatment, professionalism and communication. This is how we help our clients to quickly and effectively relieve their complaints.
We understand that every person with MS is unique, with individual symptoms, goals and needs. That is why we draw up a personal treatment plan that is fully tailored to you. We will regularly review your progress and adjust the treatment plan as necessary to ensure you get the best possible results.
Depending on the location of the inflammation, complaints may occur. For example, if the spinal cord is inflamed, there may be a loss of strength in the leg, making walking more difficult. An inflamed optic nerve causes pain behind the eye and can reduce your vision. Problems with memory, coordination, muscle weakness, pain and sexual complaints may also arise.
The loss of one or more bodily functions often has a major impact on the ability to perform activities in daily life, both physically and mentally. It is different for everyone where inflammation occurs, how often inflammation occurs and how serious it is. As a result, MS will manifest itself differently in everyone.
Physiotherapy plays an essential role in managing symptoms and promoting functionality in people with MS. Our specialist physiotherapists understand the unique challenges you face and can help you develop an individual treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.
Although MS unfortunately does not go away, the treatment is often multidisciplinary in nature. The care providers and care providers involved may be: the general practitioner, a rehabilitation doctor, a psychologist, occupational therapist or physiotherapist. The treatment plan focuses in particular on 'being able to function as independently as possible within the physical capabilities, at home and at work'.
Depending on symptoms and complaints, physiotherapy can play a supportive/accompanying role in MS. This includes learning to deal with limitations and fatigue, offering guidance with training and physical exertion. In addition, physiotherapy can positively contribute to combating stiffness complaints, spasticity and improving balance.
The physiotherapist examines posture and movement options such as walking, standing, fitness, muscle strength, coordination, etc. so that a tailor-made treatment plan can be made. A physiotherapist can also advise you (if desired) on the choice of (walking) aids.
Our physiotherapists stay abreast of the latest developments and research in the field of MS and adapt their treatment methods accordingly. We work closely with other healthcare providers to provide an integrated approach aimed at improving your quality of life.
We would like to support you in improving your mobility, reducing pain and discomfort, and increasing your independence and quality of life. Through physiotherapy we can work together to maximize your physical capabilities and promote your overall well-being.
