Extensive research and expert advice

The podiatrist recognizes and treats complaints about your feet and posture that are related to the position of your feet. He also has specialist knowledge of foot care for rheumatism and diabetes, and of (the risks associated with) the growing child's foot.

Examination and treatment

The investigation starts with an introductory conversation regarding the history of the complaints and the moments when the complaints manifested themselves. We ask you to bring some of your shoes (e.g. work or sports shoes).

The podiatrist looks at the position of the entire body, starting with your feet. He uses various measuring equipment for this, such as a scan and a foot mirror. This is followed by a functional examination to test the joints of the hip, knee, ankle and foot joints and to see whether there is a restriction of movement or hypermobility.

If it turns out that wearing an insole can contribute to the recovery of your complaints, they will be ready within a few weeks after the consultation.

Reference

You can go to a podiatrist with or without a doctor's referral. Some insurers require a referral to qualify for reimbursement.

Excellent! I have/had a fairly complex complaint in my back after an inguinal hernia. I walked crookedly for a long time because of the pain and as a result scoliosis started to form.
